Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.
The course is run at FSC Rhyd-y-creuau, near Betws-y-coed, but accommodation is provided at the Towers Outdoor Education Centre. Please contact the centre to confirm your booking. 01690 710494. Candidates may arrive on the evening prior to the start of the course. The course will start at 9am on the first day.
