WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
This workshop is designed for those in the consolidation period between ML training and assessment.
We will discuss the difference between navigating and route finding through steep ground.
We’ll then head out into Mardale to make a journey during which we’ll look at route-finding to avoid the use of the rope as an ML, both in ascent and descent. We will then have a refresher on the ropework section of the ML, discussing what your assessor will be looking for in terms of anchor selection, tying in, belaying, group management, and personal abseils. We will also have a refresher of your confidence-roping skills.
The workshop will focus on giving valuable pointers for those preparing for assessment, particularly with regard to the steep ground and group management aspects of the ML syllabus.
