I work with my colleagues as a team delivering structural steel packages to the industrial and Agricultural sectors, working with clients with their needs.

Interests and Hobbies

I enjoy hill and fell running. I am a member of Wooler Running Club. I also enjoy hill walking and mountaineering and have competed in a number of races, both as a fell runner and a walker, the most difficult of them so far being a 53 mile ultra marathon in the Highlands of Scotland, a mountain marathon and a half in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, and also a three discipline sponsored event called Summit2sea which I helped to organise to raise money for the local School.

In June 2013 I attended the Scottish National Outdoor Training Centre, Glenmore Lodge in the Cairngorms to receive training to become a Mountain Leader (Summer) My aim is to continue gaining experience and to go on to become both Summer and Winter leader qualified and possibly International Mountain leader qualified.

Since 2011 I have been involved with the BP Scouting Association and am now a fully trained Cub leader of Whittingham 1st Scouts.

As from July 2014 as a scout group we have been fundraising £50,000 to take the 15 Scouts to Uganda to take part in project work in the rural communities in July 2015.

I am fully CRB certified.

In September 2013 I became a Duke Of Edinburgh leader and have in that time supervised children during the planning, practicing and qualifying expeditions.

I am also a Scottish Sub-Aqua Club Master Diver, trained with Kelso Dive Club.

Myself and my family are regular kayakers in and around the Glendale area and further a field.

I enjoy overseas travel and spent time living and working in various roles in the south of France, and Greece.

I also have a keen interest in the local history of the North Northumberland and Scottish Border area, and help to front a group who are looking to celebrate the Battle of Humbleton through on-going events and celebrations over the next few years.

In December of 2008 I was voted on to the Wooler Parish Council as a Councillor, and was also elected as Vice Chairman of the Council, and regularly sat on various committees and steering groups. But unfortunately because of time pressures this is something I had to give up in 2012.

I also sit on a committee of local people and activity providers who are putting together an outdoor and mountain festival in the local area. www.wooleroutoorweek.com .list of duties from funding applications to marketing and logistics.
