Sam Percival started mountain biking in the UK with his friends after school way back in 1997. Before long, evenings and weekends were full of mud, sweat, gears and grins.
His love and respect of the hills has defined him since then and driven him to explore different ways to interact with the natural world around him. Always with an element of risk, usually with an element of speed. He has at one time or another explored the uk whilst mountain biking, caving, canoeing, motor-biking, summer and winter mountaineering, hill walking, scuba diving, wild swimming, skydiving and much more. He discovered climbing in 2009 and it has become a defining sport for him, particularly in the British traditional style in which he has lead at E4 6b grade.
He has worked as an outdoor instructor for over 10 years and has introduced uncountable numbers of people to the outdoors. He loves teaching and has gained a long list of recognised qualifications.
He can be usually be found near a crag with scraped knees, his hound ‘Spark’ by his heels and a cup of coffee in his hand.

Hi there,
Thanks for being interested in finding out about me. You know my name's Sam. I'm now 35. Sometimes I reside in Lancashire, but often I am to be found in whatever part of the UK has the best weather at any given moment.
I've been working and playing in the outdoors since 2002. I've tried every style of interacting with the beautiful scenery of this country I can get my hands on; biking, cycling, climbing, scrambling, caving, paddling, swimming, running, BASE jumping and skydiving all over the UK, Europe and far beyond.
To me, my qualifications are proof that I can properly care for the people I take with me for adventures. They are the opportunity to enjoy the work I need to do in this world and a way of sharing incredible situations with like minded folk.
