Mark Reid is the author of 'The Inn Way' guidebooks. He holds the Walking Group Leader, Hill & Moorland Leader, Mountain Leader awards.
Since he established TeamWalking in 2007, Mark has taken out over 17,000 people walking in the hills and mountains of Britain, and has also walked over 29,000 miles of footpaths throughout the North of England. He runs NNAS navigation courses in the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District as well as Mountain Training's Hill & Mountain Skills Scheme, and also takes groups out on guided hill/mountain walks and adventure weekends including mountain expeditions, night hikes, walking weekends, challenge walks plus much more. Mark also takes corporate groups into the Great Outdoors for team building and activity days.
Mark has regularly appeared on ITV Yorkshire's walks series 'A Breath of Fresh Air' along with weatherman Jon Mitchell, and also appeared on ITV1's The Dales.
Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS), and knows the geology, geography, history and heritage of the North of England, particularly the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, Lake District and Peak District. Mark always brings much more to his walks, from the rocks beneath your feet, to philosophy, eco-therapy plus much more.

I first fell in love with the Yorkshire Dales landscapes when I was 16. This inspired me to go to Lancaster University where I got a 2:1 in Geography. I then worked for various breweries from 1990 until 1997 as an area manager, then gave up my job to write walking books about the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Peak District, Northumberland and North York Moors. I've written 17 walking guidebooks, and am a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS).
In 2007 I decided to diversify and undertook my Walking Group Leader award (now Hill & Moorland Leader), followed by my Mountain Leader (summer) in 2011. Since 2007 I have taken over 17,000 people out walking in the North of England, from map reading and NNAS courses to wild camping, challenge walks, adventure weekends, long distance hikes and corporate team events. I love to share my passion, experience and knowledge with people. Since 1997 I have also walked over 29,000 miles of paths, and counting...
