I have known Olly for a few years now and first meet him after he had just returned from a successful ascent of the Aig. Verte via the Whymper Couloir. As I have got to him better, both personally and professionally, I continue to be inspired by him and his adventures. He is a keen and dedicated all-round climber, in fact he is more than a climber, he is a strong, dependable and extremely competent mountaineer. I say this because I have had the delights of climbing with him on high Lakeland crags and have also but have also spent time ski mountaineering and winter climbing in Scotland and feel confident in his capabilities. He has completed a vast number of personal winter climbs, some of which are quite notable such as a winter traverse of the Cuillin ridge. He has in more recent times been using his Winter ML award on week-long courses with the aim of teaching clients personal winter skills. For Olly, I see the MIC scheme as the next logical step in his progression. He is a well-rounded instructor and can tailor his tuition and coaching to suit the client group, their objectives and the prevailing conditions whether this be on a snow covered mountain top or mixed gully in the Highlands. Olly will be a true asset to the MIC scheme and I have no hesitation in giving him my full support and recommendation. Lee Paskin
