I am a Summer Mountain Leader and have a passion for walking in the hills and mountains of the UK.
I have a wide and broad walking experience base, a true love for the hills and over 14 years walking experience in moorland, hill and mountain areas of the UK. I have walked several thousand miles in every UK National Park and regularly work as a freelance ML in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Peak District, Pennines and Snowdonia. I particularly enjoy teaching navigation and sharing my environmental knowledge. I have been very fortunate to have been trained and assessed over the years by some of the best and most respected outdoor professionals in the UK.
I’m a full member of the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) and Mountain Training Association (MTA). I am a registered Director and Course Provider for the Bronze and Silver NNAS Navigation Award Scheme and I hold the NNAS Navigation Tutor Award. I’m a trained DofE Expedition Supervisor, have a valid Outdoor First Aid Certificate, have full public liability insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate.
I’m also active in fundraising for path repair projects across the UK and spend time leading ‘Walks for Health’ in my local borough and my local Youth Service supporting their DoE programme, both on a voluntary basis.
I hail from Essex but you’d never believe it from my Lancastrian accent! I live on the fringes of the Pennines and have 2 children with my long term partner.
