I’m currently working with the rescue services on their technical field guides and with Schools delivering a variety of outdoor activities, from climbing, mountain/hill walking to expedition organizer & assessor/supervisor of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
I have also been associated with expeditions further afield, leading overseas expeditions to Nepal, Africa, Jordon and Iceland, including their associated pre-expedition training, I’m also involved in helping to organize safety cover on mountain challenge events in Snowdonia. I am based in North Wales most of the year, but do travel to other areas of the UK and further afield.
In addition to my climbing experience, I have also illustrated and helped to produce many technical & educational mountain/climbing publications from leaflets, booklets for the BMC, MT, AMI, Plas y brenin, Jagged Globe and the Mountain Rescue Services.
I have also jointly helped to produce & illustrate mountaineering/ climbing books with IFMGA guide's Malcolm Creasey, Alun Richardson and most recently with the MT/BMC the new edition of “Mountaincraft and Leadership” by Eric Langmuir. I discovered the Great Outdoors in the mid-eighties and have been a passionate and active rock & winter mountaineer/climber ever since. With a career which started over 40 years ago as an illustrator in the creative industries, I have combined both outdoor instruction and creative work for the last 30 years. This has led me to travel and work extensively in the British Mountains enjoying the Welsh, Scottish and English Crags, as well as climbing widely in the mountains of Europe, and further afield to the Greater Ranges of the Himalaya (India & Nepal) Kenya, Iceland and Jordon.

During this time I have proceeded to gain professional Mountain Instructor qualifications, obtaining these during the late 80s and 90s. Over the years I have worked & gained experience both with adults and young people working on a range of adventurous outdoor activities, from leading expeditions through to climbing & mountaineering courses. I have worked mainly as a freelance instructor with a number of outdoor & local authority Centre’s as well as private clientele, both involving summer and winter skills.
