I have been mountaineering since my first trip to the North York Moors when I was a 14 yo scout. I am still involved in Scouting, and have been a member of the Essex Scouts Mountain Activities Team (ESMAT) since 1991, and was the Chief Instructor from 2004 to 2019. I am also involved with the Cumbria Scouts County Activities Team
I have led school expeditions (for World Challenge) to Kenya and Costa Rica.
My favourite thing is overnight trips in the mountains, most particularly Scotland in Winter.
I have also, much to my own surprise, become a keen fell runner since I moved to Cumbria in 2008.
However, mountaineering is my hobby, and I have a day job as a Chartered Building Surveyor.
