In my role as Operations Manager at Reading Climbing Centre I have worked alongside Andy for approx. 2 1/2 years (with a break of 9 months while he attended further education). Andy has been signed of to instruct all our bottom rope and bouldering activities as a member of our instructing team. He approaches his sessions in a conscientious and professional manner with a keen attention to detail, whilst maintaining a friendly and personable approach. He has a broad range of experience both indoors and outdoors and uses that knowledge base to add quality and progression to his sessions. Andy will make a strong CWLA candidate.

Andrew is one of the most enthusiastic instructors I have had the pleasure to witness working within the indoor environment for quite some time. He is clearly motivated and enthused with all things climbing and the outdoor environment. This translates to the groups and individuals he teaches. I frequently observe his work whilst I am either coaching or climbing nearby. He is both a good instructor and has good climbing ability and consistent safety standards. He has an ability to relate to people regardless of their age or background. He is always cheerful and positive and this is also refreshing! I would have no hesitation in enlisting Andrews help and assistance in any instructional work I have, should the need arise. And, I'm very picky! :-) It is nice to get the chance to pass on praise where it is deserved.

Andy is one of the most experienced and reliable instructors we currently have at Reading Climbing Centre. As operations manager I often trust Andy to help carryout key tasks including kit inspections and maintenance. Andy has proven himself as a safe pair of hands both indoors running sessions and also on the rock as a trad climbing partner. When pushing the grade, Andy is the kind of person you want holding your rope. He is keen to learn new skills and he takes things onboard quickly. The sessions he runs are fun and engaging and he is always looking for ways to improve.
