Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to develop rock climbers on single pitch crags, including teaching lead climbing. It builds on the skills acquired in the Rock Climbing Instructor, which candidates must hold to access the Rock Climbing Development Instructor scheme.
Join us for this fantastic training course in the Lake District!
Esther Foster and Stu Carter (of Climb 365) have joined forces to provide these exciting courses, and are passionate about providing high quality, supportive learning environments and investing in the next generation of climbing instructors.
The Lake District has a real variety of rock types, and has many single pitch gems that provide excellent RCDI teaching venues. This course uses a mix of crags with exact locations depending on the weather. Venues can include Langdale, Borrowdale, Eskdale and the outskirts of the national park. We'd recommend finding accomodation fairly central such as Ambleside, and will always try to minimise driving times, car share, or accomodate anyone travelling by public transport.
Check out Esther's website here for more information on doing your RCDI in the Lakes, a sample programme, and how to book.
Important. You must register for this award with Mountain Training and have the minimum requirements in your DLOG. Please check these requirements before booking.
Feel free to contact us with any questions about this course. We also have a Facebook group here specifically for RCDI aspirants and trainees, where you can find peer support, ask questions, and hear about further training opportunities.
