MOVE WELL AND CHILL OUT! - techniques and tactics for solid VS climbing
This workshop is designed to help you improve your skillset for personal trad leads, and help you to become a more solid climber as you move towards the RCDI qualification, or want to consolidate your VS leads as an RCI instructor.
Prior experience: you will need to be a qualified RCI to attend this workshop, and have aspirations to move towards higher level climbing awards such as RCDI.
Workshop content:
This day will focus on key movement techniques that really help on rock, and help you to chill out and focus while leading!
Key movement styles may include: steep bulges, bridging and pushing, small feet. Tactics may include: ways to reduce tension, chunking and moving between rests.
This session will run on Friday 9th August from 09.30am - 4.30pm, and there will be a maximum group size of 4. We will use crags in the central fells, but exact venues sill be decided once we have a weather forecast.
Shared transport can be available from Keswick for anyone travelling by public transport.
You need to bring your own personal climbing equipment (harness, helmet, rock shoes, belay device), and a trad rack/rope.
I will also be running a 'trust your trad gear' coaching workshop on Thursday 8th August if you would like to attend both days!
