Preparation walk for Oxford Hospital Snowdon Challenge.
Met 7 members of Oxford Hospital staff that are planning to climb Snowdon to raise funds for their charity.
This was tagged as a training walk to test their gear for suitability for the challenge and meet the guide who will be leading them up the mountain.
Provided kit advice to all, inspected proposed kit, provided training and preparation advice and provided them with an overview of risks associated with the challenge with the mitigations which bring these risks down to an acceptable level.
The walk itself was 13km long which is approximately the same length as the Snowdon route, this gave each the opportunity to test their kit over a similar distance for comfort and on some rough terrain.
All finished the day with a better idea of the challenge itself and better understanding of the current kit and what may not be suitable for the challenge.
