My passion for mountains and the great outdoors started at the age of 19 when I was on a 4 week Outward Bound Course in the Lake District. Since then I have explored mountains all over the UK and overseas, including climbing Kilimanjaro and completing the Annapurna Circuit.
Becoming a ML seemed to be the natural thing for me to do as I was always leading friends and family in the mountain environment. The deciding factor was when my work asked me to take a number of Directors into the Mountains as a team building exercise, the day was such a success and I got such a buzz out of it I knew then I had to go for it!
Since qualifying as an ML(S) I have been busy setting up my own freelance business providing guiding, training and support for DofE.
I get a huge sense of achievement through my outdoor activities be it taking a group up their first mountain or providing training, especially when it all clicks into place!
