I am a Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and run Roam Mountains. I specialise in preparing people for alpine and greater ranges climbing expeditions in the UK, predominately in North Wales, the West Highlands and the Peak District. I've led expeditions in the greater ranges and across the globe for 20 years, climbed peaks such as Peak Lenin (7134m) and Aconcagua (6961m) as well as making first ascents in remote areas such as a 6000m peak in the far West of Nepal. In addition to mountain expedition I've led expeditions in remote and difficult to access places such as the deserts of Iran and Sudan and trekking and climbing in the Wakhan Corridor, Afghanistan and mountaineering on South Georgia, Antarctica. I've summited 72 out of 82 alpine 4000m peaks and am a full member of the Alpine Club. More recently I've worked for the British Antarctic Survey as a Field Guide supporting pioneering polar science. I hold the WEMSI Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician first aid qualification. One of my favourite things to do in the UK are sea cliff climbing, long mountain rock climbs in North Wales, Scottish winter climbing, Cuillin Ridge traverses and Autumn gritstone climbs.
