I have been an ML Summer Holder since 1992 and have led a significant number of individuals and groups in the UK and Europe, having led groups on both day walks and a variety of multi-day Mountain Expeditions over many years.
Additionally, I have considerable experience delivering Navigation courses to a wide range of people and organisations, as well as assisting a great deal of Instructors in their preparation for Mountain Leader Training especially with the Day and Night Navigation.
I have very much enjoyed delivering numerous Hill & Mountain Skills courses for Mountain Training.
I am a Trainer/Assessor and Leader for numerous Outdoor Adventure Activities, including Caving, Gorge Walking, Canyoning, Coasteering and numerous others.
My passion is to help people to enjoy the outdoors in a safe and appropriate way, helping build confidence and skills at all levels. I have held the following positions:
•Chairman of the Brecon Beacons Sustainable Destination Partnership, working closely with BBNPA and partners to ensure continued access to the hills and mountains, whilst ensuring an environmentally sustainable approach.
•Chairman of Carmarthenshire Destination Partnership
•South Wales Outdoor Activity Providers Group (SWOAPG) Coordinator and Steering Group member
•Representative to WATO for SWOAPG
I have been involved in Cave Rescue for more than 20 years and I am a Warden and Emergency Services Liaison Officer for South & Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team, as well as being a Controller, Underground Controller and Advanced First Aid course (MREW Cas Care) Trainer & Assessor.

I have been Mountain Walking for nearly 40 years, since first being introduced to Outdoor Activities as a Scout. I have spent a considerable amount of time in the Hills and Mountains throughout the UK, as well as in Europe and Worldwide. My role as an Outdoor Activity Instructor and Trainer/Assessor has allowed me to introduce many people to the Mountains for the first time, as well as being able to help a great number of walkers with their skills and experience, particularly in terms of navigation skills.
I am passionate about the outdoors and am always keen to encourage others to share in the experiences that they will always remember.
