Started at Ski Station and ascended onto Plateu via 1141 and headed to Ben Mc Dui via Cairn Lochan. Snow pack was pretty solid with lots of Neve and Verglass Ice.
I was the leader of the friendship group with one other experienced winter Mountaineer and two group members with very little winter experience. Not many going around on top, but a very stunning Winter day.
Descended via Miadan Creag an Leth Choin and back to the ski carpark.
PS. lots of climbers on gullies in Sneachda!
Area :
The Cairngorms
The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
